I also decided to create an account on www.surveymonkey.com and build an online questionnaire to issue to our audiences and to collect feedback.

Collecting Feedback- Coldplay, Clocks

Firstly, we uploaded our final product to YouTube (www.youtube.com), so that people could view it and 'like' or 'dislike our product, and also leave comments; allowing audience feedback from a wide and varied audience.

However, neither my YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/maisiehesketh?feature=mhee), Tiffany's channel (http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvu8087f37ZNemmpyo2XTOg?feature=watch), nor Brogan's channel (http://www.youtube.com/channel/UClvZ1E1BJoYNJGgZwtkcyZA) had  enough subscribers for enough people to see it and us to receive substantial audience feedback.

Therefore, we decided to send links to our video to a sparse wide of people- of all ages, occupations, backgrounds and interests. I used platforms such as text messaging, Blackberry Messenger (BBM), Facebook and email to spread it across a large enough range of people that i thought was adequate.

Magazine Advert- Coldplay

We decided to conform to conventions by using a simple font, and having the basic album information, an image of our 'artist' on the magazine advertisement:

However, we decided that it would also make the magazine advert more effective if we were to add reviews of the album (which we found from http://www.rollingstone.com/ and http://www.nme.com/).

DigiPak Images

FRONT COVER

We decided to use this image as our album cover because it was non-specific to 'Clocks' by showing simply the artist on a black screen. However, due to it being a still-shot from our 'Clocks' video it subtly linked with the track we chose to work specifically on, which we liked. We kept the background black, as it is in the music video because we liked the contrast with the bright white t-shirt our performer wears. The angle of the shot is also good because it is a slight low angle shot representing importance- which obviously he has in this production. Also, his facial expressions appear thoughtful showing the meaning and intelligence behind the songs. We decided to break the conventions of Coldplay's usual album covers; simple:
and abstract:
But were inspired by their following single covers:

and DVD:

BACK COVER

We decided to again break conventions with our back cover. Despite sticking with conventions using a simple font to list the track names, Coldplay usually do not have an image on the back of their CD's; which is the convention we decided to oppose. Instead I was inspired by The Kook's DigiPak for 'Inside In Inside Out' where the image on the front cover and the back cover relate to one another.

INSIDE PAGES
We decided to stick with conventions with our inside images by using a mixture of both performers and other relevant images- each of our images were taken during filming for our 'Clocks' music video in order for them to relate, but still remain unspecific to a viewer who had not seen the video. I felt that each of the images was appropriate due to the non-specific subjects, which I thought would be relatable to each of the album's tracks.

DigiPak Plan

We decided to have a picture of Jeff (our performer) on the stage at the back and with songs down the left hand side. We thought that this would be effective yet simplistic; it would still attract the audience’s attention. We thought about having another photo of Jeff on the front cover, we decided maybe the magazine advert. This way people would be able to recognise the album because they have seen the magazine advert, also as Jeff is shown mostly in the music video. We thought about using a clock on the fold in panel, this is because we wanted to promote our music video and the single 'Clocks' more. Therefore, as soon as they open up the product the clock is the first thing they see. We thought about having a review page on one of the inside panels, this would be seen as they open up it up, by putting the reviews on that page the audience are likely to read them as they see it straight away. The reviews would be about the album or about the songs featured on the album. We decided to use a piano on the second inside panel because when they opened it out more they would see that a piano is used in one of the songs. A picture of a candle is used underneath the CD holder, this is because it is similar to a graphic match as the candle is circular and the CD holder is, also the flame of the candle would be in the same place as circular hole of the CD.
